The Rev. Michael Sadgrove, Dean of Durham Cathedral gives a sermon at the University Church St. Mary the Virgin for the service of thanksgiving on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the foundation of the college. He looks back at how Balliol College came to be from its origins in the Northumberland region, whilst also discussing the people who contributed to the College to make it what it is today.
