Naomi Tiley, Librarian at Balliol College, University of Oxford
celebrates the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare
with a lecture about his connections to Oxford, and specifically to
Balliol College. Having delved through the collections of the College
Library, Naomi curated an exhibition that contained various books,
manuscripts and other items of interest which all related to the Bard.
The lecture was delivered and recorded in the Balliol Historic
Collections Centre at St Cross Church.
NB – This lecture uses the spelling ‘Shakespear’ which was in common
usage in the 18th Century, the period when his work began to be accepted
amongst the fellows and students of the University of Oxford.
