Paul Wicks PhD, R&D Director of PatientsLikeMe delivers a talk at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII). PatientsLikeMe leverages the internet to connect patients so they can compare their conditions and research their own health problems. William Dutton, Professor of Internet Studies at the OII gave a brief introduction. The talk was also attended by Dr Huipeng Shi from Shanghai Jiaotong University who is working at the OII as part of the Health Collaboration Network. He wishes to launch a similar project which aims to use the internet to help prevent re-fracturing of bones in elderly patients in China.
