Professor Edmund Phelps speaks at the Sheldonian Theatre, University of Oxford at the invitation of the Oxford Martin School. Professor Phelps is the McVickar Professor of Political Economy at Columbia University, Director of The Center on Capitalism and Society, and the winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Economics. Introduced by the Director of the Oxford Martin School, Professor Ian Goldin, Professor Phelps outlines the thesis of his most recent book, Mass Flourishing, and amongst other things describes the importance of innovation to modern economies.
