Dr Adam Grieve, Jones and Anson Junior Research Fellow in the Biosciences at the University of Oxford, speaks about the multidisciplinary nature of his work. Specialising in biological science at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, he stresses the need for also understanding aspects of physics and chemistry in our increasingly interdisciplinary academic world. Having studied English extensively, he also emphasises the importance of the humanities to science, in terms of good communication skills which help scientists properly explain and convey their science to a wider audience.
