Mayor of London Boris Johnson is interviewed by Sir Drummond Bone, Master of Balliol College, University of Oxford. They start with their shared passion for cars, with Boris having written a book on the subject and Sir Drummond being a racing car enthusiast. This conversation stresses the importance of cars to the women’s suffrage movement. They also discuss the possibility of UK universities opening campuses abroad – a similar proposition to the venture initiated by Sir Drummond in setting up Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University in China whilst he was Vice Chancellor at Liverpool University. This interview was conducted after a dinner to celebrate Balliol College’s 750th Anniversary at which Boris Johnson also gave a speech.
