The Big Draw is a month long event which encourages people to pick up a pencil, crayon or brush and get busy drawing. The launch of the Big Draw 2015 was held on 19th September in the Weston Library, University of Oxford. The joys and benefits of drawing are explained by Big Draw President, Sue Grayson Ford, whilst Bodley’s Librarian Richard Ovenden welcomed the large audience to the event. Also on hand were author Philip Pullman, who read a story which was simultaneously illustrated on the large screen by Children’s Laureate, Chris Riddell. The Big Draw launch also featured a variety of activity areas where members of the general public could show off their creative side and draw to their hearts content.
