Prof Steven Cowley, President of Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford offers his advice to young people on his academic expertise of physics. Having been a student at the college which he’d later go on to head, Prof Cowley stresses the importance of young people in figuring out what drives them while at university in order to have a happy and fulfilling career. He uses the example of Einstein to explain that while complex maths is important to become a professional physicist, it’s the creative ideas behind the maths which really drives progress in the subject.
