Journalist, broadcaster and and author Matthew Syed delivers a talk as part of the 750th anniversary celebrations of Balliol College, University of Oxford. Speaking at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, he addresses the topic of how the world might change over the next 75 years by explaining how human performance is evolving and adapting to new challenges. He does this by arguing against the commonly accepted idea that talent is innate to individuals, but rather it is something that through continual practice and endeavour can be learned. An accomplished table tennis player who has competed at the Olympics, Matthew Syed delivers an entertaining talk peppered with personal examples of his own international level of competition.
